About Us
Dr. Darren Brenton Smith was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and grew up in a Christian home where biblical principles were practiced. This however did not persuade him to commit his life to Jesus Christ but he pursued a career in the secular arena, with his sights set on becoming an attorney of law. After he was accepted as a law student at Randse Afrikaanse University (RAU) in Johannesburg, he was involved a serious car accident which almost cost him his life and it was nothing short of a miracle that he survived. The doctor’s report indicated a skull fracture and the loss of his right eye. This accident made him ponder about life after death and while recovering in hospital he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Saviour in February 1994.
Upon his conversion he committed his life completely to Christ, feeling the call of God on his life, he became involved part-time in ministry, which later led him to Rhema Bible Training Centre where he completed a two-year diploma in ministerial training in 1998 and started an office supply business in 1999. His involvement in the business world was a great success and allowed him to sow into the kingdom by assisting up and coming ministries financially and labouring for lost souls. This proved very successful, and he got involved in evangelistic outreaches and helped support feeding schemes, community projects and other social programs financially as well as saving the lost and leading them to Christ.
Many ministries benefited from him being Kingdom minded and his passion for ministry increased daily until he started his own ministry in March 2010 after being ordained as a minister of the Gospel.
Christ Jesus Church International South Africa was established in March 2010, with its corporate office at 40 Planet Avenue, Crown Mines, Johannesburg. Dr. Darren Smith is the founder and president and his wife, Pastor Natasha Smith is vice-president.
